The strangest loud sound emanated from the room. David and Peter fell to the floor and covered their heads with their flash lights.
Peter: "Ok, the next thing that needs to be turned or twisted, you will do it.”
All of a sudden, all lights began to come back on.
David: “Thank God, I was running out of ideas. You know Peter they can do a lot more than trace you down with the new energy technology. They can find out all sorts of things about you by noticing your habits. When you come and go. What you eat, how much you eat, when you have company, when you are sick, the hours you keep, how often you shower, when you have sex and much more. They will be using these things to distribute time, health and benefits as they are already doing, money through Cap and trade. Officials can also use blackmail at will against those that are subject to such. I had to come here on a foot pedal bike or they would have used GPS to track me.”
David: “Gina and I were talking and maybe I will be able to do something to help those being rounded up, if I just go back like nothing has changed.”
Peter: “Look what would have happened today if you had not been here. It is obvious that your Father-N- Law intended for you to be here. I don’t think you will be able to do much there. However if Mr. Thomas is successful,
there will be many coming here and I will need your help.”
At that point, Gina had found her way, in the now lighted compound, to where they were.
David: “Gina, I am staying for now.”
Gina: "If you stay for long, you can't go back. You know that don’t you?”
David: “Yea, I know it.”
Peter: “Gina, the truth is, if it had not been for David, I might not have been able to figure out how to get this new power plant turned on for the compound. Your Dad is very thorough as the fact this place exists shows. He intended for David to be here.”
Gina looked at David and once again held him.
Gina: “Ok, it really freaked out Tom when he heard that you were thinking of leaving. For now he will be happy. I am very contented with this decision and explanation.”
