THOMAS AND THE TOBEY SHOWDOWN

At that point in time officers from nearby towns were leaving after seeing Thomas no where around and recognizing there were literally no where for him to hide.

 Tomlinson, trying to out do Hammond had been given charge of the area. His instruction to the local authorities was to examine everyone found. 

Via their witchcraft, the wizards had convinced them that there was nothing going on in Tobey but a small group of new agers, conferencing.

 Upon leaving, the authorities checked with the driver of the car, who had called the ambulance for a person hit by a car. The driver was a well known man.

 The man still lay on the ground near the car. They looked at the damage to the car while they
reported to Tomlinson.

Lead officer Morrow: “Well, the man has no ID on him Mr. Tomlinson but the driver’s side of the car is almost totaled and so is the man. He is turning purple.”

 Tomlinson: “Leave him you idiot, he cannot cause anyone trouble.”

The driver of the car expecting some help from authorities.

Car driver: “Ok guys, you’re not just going to leave, are you?”

Lead officer Morrow: “We have no choice besides the ambulance will be here in minutes. In fact, it should have been here by now.  I will call them as we leave and tell them to get here or that man is certainly dead. Maybe something can be done for him.”

Tomlinson: ‘Forget him. We have no time to waste.”

The car driver could hear the short wave conversation. 

At that point the authorities all drove away at the behest of Tomlinson.

 Car driver: “Butt holes!”

 After that, the driver went to the back of the car towards the woods to relieve himself.

He returned to a startling sight.

Car driver: “Where is the man that I hit?  What happened to the damage to my car?”

 The man being amazed, nevertheless realized that if the ambulance came and found nothing as was reported, he could be in big trouble.  He immediately drove away from the scene.
