Jake Talbert: “It is me. I come to spend some time with you. Me and you can go together.”
At that point Jake climbs down the chamber shaft to join James. They hug each other.
Executioner: “Look, this may be emotionally satisfying to you two but I have to have the names and documentation of all executed. We can’t just go around killing people you know.”
Jake Talbert: “I don’t know why you say that, you have killed hundreds and soon will be many thousands.
You are a murderer!”
Pastor White: In a low voice. “Hey buddy, if they postpone, we get to live another day maybe.”
Jake Talbert: “Well, I want them to blow it up now.”
Pastor White: “Are you feeling ok, old friend?” Putting the back of his hand on Jake’s forehead.
Executioner: “Mr. White, do you know this man?”
James and Jake look at each other and Jake spoke loudly.
Jake Talbert: “Tell him who I am.”
Pastor White: “Are you sure?”
Jake Talbert: Again loudly. "Tell them!”
Pastor White: “This man’s name is Jake Talbert.”
The entire group begins to speak to each other.
Executioner: “The Jake Talbert?”
Jake Talbert: “In the flesh!”
They see the Executioner on the phone and hear some of the conversation.
Executioner: “He says that he is Jake Talbert and he wants to be with that minister when final peace is carried out.”
He turns his back and cannot hear all that is said.
Then after he turns and walks back towards the opening.
Central Office: “Hold on for Rodger Schwartz. I said…"
Executioner: “I heard and am holding on for Rodger Swartz.”
Schwartz: “Schwartz here. Look, I have been updated. I want you to understand this. That man Talbert is really tricky. Don’t let him go any where. If he seeks to leave, kill him. I’ll be there is an hour. Out!”
Jake Talbert: “What did he say?”
Executioner: “He said you are tricky but to hold on to you till he comes.”
Jake Talbert: “How long will it take him to get here?”
