BEING LIKE ALL SINNERS

Bill Sullivan     BEING LIKE ALL SINNERS

THE I AM A SINNER LIKE ALL MEN IDEA

You know the idea that everyone is the same whether Christian or not. They all have their faults and so no one has a right to judge.
I don't think most intentionally mean it in a bad way. It is the typical way we speak today to help others not feel alone in their struggle to overcome. However I have seen an effect that is most often unintentional. It causes some to feel more comfortable in their sins. It goes something like this:

1. I got sins

2. You got sins

3. All of Gods children got sin.

4. Everyone else got sin

So let no one make Judgments.. And all just love and be happy.... well my friends that is a trick of Satan.

I will never forget as a kid a man from China, who was a friend of the family told me that he was being recruited to be a member of a local Church.. He said, they told him.. "The difference between us and you is we commit the same sins, we are just forgiven." They did not know that made no sense to the man... HE WAS RIGHT.. They were wrong.

God paid the Penalty for us to receive the Spirit NOT to be sinners who continue to sin.. But to be righteous people free from sin.. and if we make errors, that they become fewer and farther in between because we grow. If this is not what is happening to us and if there is a sin we CANNOT overcome, we are in bondage and need deliverance. That deliverance DOES NOT COME by calling God a lie. Because as a Christian, God has made PROMISES like: Sin SHALL not have dominion over you. AND NEVER ONCE will you NOT have power to over come any sin. We need to know this.

We don’t need to SAY or THINK things different from this and assume you will receive anything from God... Because if we say that in our minds, we will be actually calling him a LIAR: IT IS BY his promises THAT WE BECOME PARTAKER of his DIVINE NATURE. That is faith.. Otherwise we only have a form of Godliness and deny the power of it.  My Dad use to say, if you fall don’t wallow! Get up with the attitude that you CAN and WILL get it done next time; knowing that the power is always with us. Just understand that God wants you to struggle to overcome. He wants you to have to put some effort in it. If he did not allow it to be difficult, there would be no character building.

The Apostle Paul upon asking the Messiah to remove a messenger of Satan that was allowed to buffet him was told by Yeshua (Jesus) MY GRACE IS ENOUGH FOR YOU… That is he always gives enough of whatever is needed to overcome. If you feel sufficient and are able yourself, then Yeshua (Jesus) knows and expects you to do what you are able. Yes we have little power as humans but there are some things we hate or love and find easy. But as the Apostle Paul found out, it is when things are stronger than you are able; when they are 2 times or a 100 times or more greater than you are able that YESHUA uses his power to step in. Thus it is when you are WEAKEST that you actually are STRONGEST… We need to start knowing this is a certainty. And God has NEVER FAILED not even ONCE to fulfill this. That part he has OBLIGATED to himself.  That means a Christian is a different kind of being. He is a human with the Spirit of God manifested in his or her life. That is not true of none Christians. God expects more out of you than out of them.

So how many Christians do you know who says to themselves each morning what the Apostle Paul had to be reminded of, and explained the answer below:
II CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 12:
8     For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9     And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10     Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

So let us take on this attitude because it is the TRUE way it is. Do not think Christ is all about feel good all the time. No one makes changes when all things are going the way they like it. That is why Yeshua mention how HARD it is for a Rich person to enter the kingdom. This is a hard lesson to learn, because it does not matter how mature you get in Christ, that only means that God will let you handle more of it yourself. He wants that Character created in you and partially by your effort. If he had wanted robots, then he would have made them. Now smile and know that all you need to do is be willing to die for Christ and he will always take care of the rest, supplying all you need. But to increase Character we MUST make proper judgments and first by being honest about ourselves. It is ok, Yeshua  showed how great his love was towards us in that while we were FULLY into sin, he  died for us. He will be glad to see the honesty and proper judgment so that when we fail we can pick ourselves up not LYING and excusing ourselves. We do not need to do that, He died for us; but rather saying the truth is somewhere down in me I wanted to do that. Now let me learn more why God says I should hate it. And I know the power will always be there. So I will like Paul GLORY in the opportunities of WEAKNESS… because when I am weak, then I am strong because God appropriates the power at a moment’s notice, to WILL and do his good pleasure. But he will not force us. And once again, yea, he wants it to be a struggle until your own senses are exercised to the point that it is not the big problem any more.
